Georg Konle is Senior Business Analyst and has been with CRX Markets since 2017.
He develops new products and features for the CRX platform and is in constant contact with clients to support their integration into the Marketplace.
We interviewed him for you to find out what it´s like to work for CRX.
Q: Hello Georg, you are a Senior Business Analyst at CRX Markets and have been part of the team since 2017. How did it come you join us back then?
A: I already worked with our Head of Product, Lutz Limburg, at my previous employer. He has been part of CRX Markets since 2014. In 2017, we started talking about joining the Product Team. I quickly realized that the position, the product, and the company culture could be a very good fit for me. And it did.
Q: How did you experience our hiring process?
A: The process already started with my previously described exchange with Lutz on the position in the Product Team. Also, processing an IT case study is always part of the application process. After that, there were further rounds of interviews with other employees from business and IT as well as with the management team. Even though the whole process was very intense, it only took about two weeks from the first exchange to the contract offer.
Q: How is your job today different from what you did before at the bank?
A: Today, as a Business Analyst, I can work much closer to the product itself. It’s very exciting because you can have a real impact. Before, I was rather in a project management role. Many topics, which are also outside of product management, fell within my area of responsibility. Due to the position’s structure, I had to "run after" some of my colleagues. That is different here. At CRX Markets, we develop our own product and don’t just provide a service. This means that today I have a much higher focus on the product and the system behind it, rather than modifying individual systems behind the products, as I did back then at the bank.
Q: What skills do you think are important to be successful on the Product Team at CRX Markets?
A: Intrinsic motivation for the product itself is essential. You must be able to identify with your work. Our platform solution is new and therefore not immediately understandable for new employees. But that’s exactly what makes it so exciting! You have a steep learning curve. Of course, technical skills are also very important in our job. A basic understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language) and how to read and describe technical diagrams is the foundation for us in the Product Team.
Q: Could you describe a typical day in the Product Team?
A: There is no such thing as a typical day with routine appointments and activities in my job. Our product team fulfills too much of a special role for that. There are currently three squads. They deal with one product solution, and each has a product owner. This means that I have a lot to do with our developers, QA colleagues and the departments throughout the day when we develop new features or generate new ideas. In addition, I take part in many customer meetings when it comes to explaining the possibilities of our platform or integrating new customers. So, my day has different facets of internal coordination and external appointments.
Q: What do you like about working at CRX Markets?
A: I like working at CRX Markets because I am convinced that our marketplace can fully serve our clients. I don’t think that is always the case in the financial industry. I can simply identify very well with our product. I also really enjoy working in our team – the cooperation is just great.
