Q: Hello Ivana, you have been with us for a little over a year. How has CRX Markets been treating you so far?
A: Oh, it has been great so far. I love my whole team in Infrastructure because we have such a great atmosphere in the team, and they have been super helpful ever since I joined. I may still be the only woman in the Infrastructure team, but it just feels like a family over here.

Q: How did your recruiting process in IT work? What were you asked about in your technical interview?
A: It honestly went very well and smoothly. I was approached by our Head of HR Katharina about the possibility of joining as a Network Engineer at CRX Markets. I was very nervous about applying for the job, because I had a gap within my CV for a while due to family reasons and relocating from North Macedonia to Germany, but Katharina made the whole process very pleasant. It started out with an interview just getting to know CRX Markets and the team I would join later on. After that I had my technical interview that is common practice with IT people, where we were digging deeper into the topics that would become relevant for me later when it comes to network security and IT support. We always have to present a test case to our future senior manager and some team members as a last step and after that I got a thumbs up and got the job.

Q: You said you had been out of the IT field for a while before joining CRX Markets. Was getting back into it with us a big challenge?
A: As I’ve said I was of course nervous about getting back into IT with CRX Markets, because I had to work with Microsoft and network applications I wasn’t used to with my jobs in the past. But looking back there wasn’t really a reason to be scared about it because I already had a very good knowledge base to start from when it comes to network questions and whenever I did have questions, I could ask anybody in my team for help. You just have to be willing to learn new things in IT – if you do that the people at CRX Markets will always be there to help you.

Q: That sounds so nice! Since you are a Network Engineer with us, what are your typical responsibilities?
A: For one I am responsible for making sure that all our internal networks and systems work well for everybody else, so that work isn’t interrupted due to issues with the internet or anything of that sort. But other than that, I am also there, if people encounter software or hardware problems during their work. Additionally, I am doing all the onboarding and offboarding activities on the IT side of things.

Q: That sounds like you’re having a lot of things on your table!
A: It is not a big deal. We’re always supportive in our team. There’s also the possibility to take care of personal matters if we need to sometimes. That’s not a limiting factor. We just have to let everybody know in advance and then everybody is more than willing to help.

Q: As a conclusion what would you say you appreciate most about your job and working environment at CRX Markets?
A: Honestly, it just feels like home. As outlandish as that statement might sound to people working at other companies. I just enjoy being in the office and around my colleagues. I enjoy my work and being part of the infrastructure team. I wouldn’t want to change that for anything.
